The loco pilot and guard immediately informed the railway team, which responded and took further action. Fortunately, the quick thinking of the driver averted a major accident. The railway authorities appealed for calm amongst passengers. The train was brought back by the loco pilot and the engine was reconnected to the coaches. The train was then stopped at Pusa station for investigation. The DRM of Samastipur Railway Division, Vinay Srivastava, has ordered a senior DST to investigate the incident, which he stated is a case of malfunctioning coupling. The incident caused a delay of over an hour, and the train remained at Pusa station until 12:30 PM.
