Perambur deserves terminal development with additional PF to accomodate the byepass trains of chennai central. Once metro completed more connectivity will be ensured. creation of terminal in northern line also needed to reduce congestion.

Primary caterence trains should start from MAS and MS. Secondary caterance trains can be started from Tambaram this way north chennai gets set of trains and south chennai gets set of trains. Perambur should be given north bound trains than terminating west bound trains. GPD/Ponneri/ some other station can be developed into terminal for south trains so that north of chennai people in TRL district can relay on those. MAS NCJ, MAS BODI should be made daily to serve AJJ TRL JTJ people for south connectivity. In this way some pain can be reduced.

getting rid of suburban from central would create so many problems. With metro developing Wimco nagar might get stops for north bound train due metro connectivity. As Tambaram will be eventually filled, some more terminal infrastructure should be needed. As phase 2 connects perambut I feel some good chances r there. Avadi is very much cramped and Ambattur RS and BS totally different ways.

POY should be given new chennai train via CBE than extending existing. SBC POY anyway UDAY extension on paper that will eventually cater POY SBC need. People demand whichever improbable to MP and create politics over it. He could have asked TPJ train via DG which is more necessary one.

Problem with mangaluru division is where it will get 600 kms line. Atleast if KR merged with IR, Mangalore division can be created by merging Vasco londa, Swantwadi jokkatte, mangalore to hassan lines. In such case TVC and PGT can be merged to become ERM division containing entire KL lines. POY NYY to TVC can be merged with MDU divison. SCT to QLN can be brought under ERM division. getting consenus will be tough. Easy solution is mangalore KA portions can be merged with mysore division.
