Injured passengers were treated and transported to Kanpur. The train was subsequently halted, and all passengers were transported back to Kanpur. The incident caused cancellations of trains operating between Kanpur, Bundelkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. Railway officials are investigating the cause of the derailment.

This line would connect Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, and other districts, improving connectivity and opening new possibilities for rail services. The request was based on the importance of the Kheda Brahma temple, the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma in Gujarat, and the lack of easy transportation between Gujarat and Rajasthan for people visiting the temple or for business purposes. The new railway line would bridge the gap, facilitating convenient rail connectivity between Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
