मोतिहारी।रंगो के त्योहार होली का दिन जैसे - जैसे करीब आ रहा है वैसे ही बिहार में शराब का खेप पहुंचना भी जारी है। दरअसल बापूधाम मोतिहारी रेलवे स्टेशन पर सप्तक्रांति एक्सप्रेस के पार्सल बोगी से भारी मात्रा में विदेशी शराब को बरामद किया गया। बताया गया कि रेलवे सुरक्षा बल यानी आरपीएफ को गुप्त सूचना मिली थी कि सप्तक्रांति एक्सप्रेस से शराब की बोतलें लाई जा रही है। सूचना के आधार पर आरपीएफ की टीम मैं तलाशी के दौरान पार्सल बोगी से भारी मात्रा में विदेशी शराब को जब्त किया। हालांकि इस मामले में अभी तक किसी की गिरफ्तारी नहीं हो सकी है लेकिन पुलिस का कहना है कि इस मामले की तह तक जाकर शराब माफियाओं की गिरफ्तारी की जाएगी।

Members of the Malayali Samajam demanded resumption of Kerala Sampark Kranti Express Train, popularly known as Kochuveli Express, connecting Chandigarh with Kochuveli. Office-bearers of Malayali Samajam, Mohali (Kerala Bhawan) presented a memorandum in this regard to divisional railway manager (DRM), Ambala on Friday.
K Shivaramakrishna, president, Malayali Samajam, Mohali said office-bearers met the divisional railway manager (DRM), Northern Railways, Ambala and handed over a memorandum demanding resumption of the Kerala Sampark Kranti Express trains (Train No. 12217 and 12218). The DRM assured us that all possible steps would be taken to restart the said trains, he said.

G M Singh said said, “We have accepted the memorandum and assured them that a notification will soon be issued in this regard. The notification on resumption of any train is to be issued by the railway ministry.”
According to the DRM, Ambala division is also waiting for issuance of the notification to announce starting of festival special trains as holi is approaching. Every year, Holi special trains are introduced under Ambala division from Chandigarh-Kalka, Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar. This is done to facilitate migrants who wish to go to their native places in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to celebrate Holi.

The driver of the EMM was critically injured in this accident and was admitted in a nearby hospital.
The accident happened when the barricade of railway crossing number 10 was open and the EMM driver tried to cross the rail track. The Janki Express coming at full speed hit the EMM. The train passengers were unhurt in this mishap.
Eyewitnesses said the impact of the accident was such that the EMM was completely destroyed.

The Jaynagar-Manihari Janki Express collided with a Earth Mover Machine (EMM) at Bakhri Dala village on the Samastipur Khagaria rail section in Bihar on Saturday morning.
The driver of the EMM was critically injured in this accident and was admitted in a nearby hospital.

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway has carried 183.28 million tonne of freight traffic up to the end of February, 2021 of the current financial year, i.e. from 1st April, 2020 to 28th February, 2021 by carrying 1.18 million tonne more than the corresponding period of last financial year registering a growth of 0.6%, the ECoR stated today.
In the month of February, 2021 only; i.e. from 1st to 28th February, 2021, East Coast Railway has carried 18.62 million tonne of freight registering a growth of 5.4% from the corresponding period of last year, i.e. from 1st to 28th February, 2020.

achieve this loading figure, East Coast Railway has utilised 10 thousand 16 Wagons per day in February, 2021 as against 9132 wagons during the correspondence period of last financial year. Similarly, up to the end of February, 2021; East Coast Railway has utilised about 8198 wagons per day from 1st April, 2020 to 28th February, 2021 and aims to load more rakes to achieve the goal.
Apart from this, Khurda Road Division has run 79 long haul trains in February, 2021 which is highest in any month with an average of 2.78 trains per day. To transport more freight to different destinations in a minimum time period with maximum train speed, 79 rakes having an average of 118 wagons each have been utilized by Khurda Road Division. Similarly, Waltair & Sambalpur Division have also used this formula to transport more freight to achieve the goal. The freight transported are coal, iron ore, lime stone etc from the major loading points like Keonjhar, Dhamara, Pradeep, Talcher etc., from the jurisdiction of Khurda Road Division.
This has been achieved despite lockdown and closure & less workforce in industries and in mineral units under East Coast Railway jurisdiction. To get this remarkable performance, East Coast Railway has utilized its manpower and rolling stock items with proper planning and coordination with Govt Sectors and Industries.
Under the able leadership & guidance of its General Manager Shri Vidya Bhushan, East Coast Railway has achieved the remarkable performance. Apart from this, the Business Development Units of East Coast Railway integrating innovative policy making with stability and certainty in the logistics sectors by attracting new avenues for modal transit from rail to road.
