BHUBANESWAR: Vigilance wing of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) and Railway protection force (RPF) have jointly started conducting drives against unauthorized ticket vendors and other malpractices at major stations like Bhubaneswar, Puri, Cuttack, Sambalpur and Visakhapatnam. An official release issued by the ECoR on Sunday said the zone has kept strict vigil on the touts and illegal travel agents near reservation counters of the stations. The Vigilance wing has also kept an eye on the people who book train tickets from IRCTC website by using fake personal IDs. Some travel agents have started selling tickets with high prices due to puja rush, said a senior railway official. ECoR appealed passengers to purchase tickets from reservation counters of the stations and authorized travel agents instead of buying it from touts and illegal ticket vendors.
