The mighty SR PGT division, which blocks all Karnataka originating trains to MAQ, should not ask SWR to run Kozhikode Bangalore trains. They should show that SR is self reliant in running a train from Malabar area to Bangalore. Already SWR is running two trains to Kannur.
SR can achieve this in any of the following ways:
1. Extend daily Parasuram upto Bangalore. It can reach MAQ by 2030 and leave by 2100 to reach YPR by 0530. Return can leave YPR by 1915 to reach MAQ by...
more... 0430 and continue in existing TT to Nagercoil. Kozhikode gets an excellent perfect connection.
2. Biweekly MAQ KCG can be diverted from Tirupattur via KJM DMM instead of via KPD RU. Some 100 km distance is less and so 2 hours journey time saved for end to end passengers.
3. Introduce a bi/tri weekly CLT KCG via MAJN HAS BAW YNK DMM. SR can definitely think on these lines.
4. Run a Kozhikode Chennai SF via MAJN HAS BAW KJM (bypassing YPR/ SBC). This train can have maintenance at MAS. Both ends are in SR only, but it passes through SWR, something like Basava passing through SCR and CR to the destination in SWR.
I humbly request all SR authorities to explore such options, instead of asking SWR to run their 3rd train to North Kerala,. SWR has no resources and plans to run additional intra state trains and if SR, big brother, ask, they cannot refuse the request and it may give more heartburns.
