That won't happen. In reality the fares will be lesser than metro. Mumbai's AC locals are just like BG metro. High fare is because it is classified as AC journey, not a suburban one, and without real features of ACC. read more... Unfair! Say Mumbaikars of new AC local services
Presently AC local services on Mumbai suburban main line is being operated with just 3 rakes. That translates to a total of 44 services in a day. People won't wait for next AC local, they will travel in whichever is available first. So even at Metro fares, there won't be big patronage. But once there are 10 rakes in service (120-140 services per day), it will be very useful as an AC local service will be available every 10-15 minutes.

Without resorting to trainsets, those 3 trains can have their travel time reduced by up to 3 hours when LHBfied. In case of CG, travel time can be reduced by at least 8 hours. All these trains get delayed by up to 2 hours (low priority) but yet make it up. CG multiple times.

Best part of these coaches is that it offers reversible seats (180 degree rotatable seats). Usual ACCC or ECCC don't offer this feature to face direction of travel.
Somehow all trains fail to provide a comprehensive solution to this view. Half the trains have a view blocked by the loco!!!
