The longest pier of bridge number 196 is 104 meters, surpassing the Qutub Minar's height by 42 meters. The Jiribam-Imphal New Line project, which aims to connect Manipur to the rest of India, is also nearing completion. This 111 km long project includes 52 tunnels, 11 major bridges, and 129 minor bridges. It features the construction of a railway bridge with a world-record height of 141 meters for its pier. The project is 77% complete. These projects will provide improved connectivity to the people of the hilly states of Mizoram and Manipur.
