Trains running on the track laid on the ground in five directions from Junction, goods train to run on the railway flyover. The Second Longest Railway Flyover (Grade Separator) of country is under construction in Katni. For this, officials of South East Central Railway Zone have started preparations to survey.
A Grade Separator of more than 10 km in length will be built between Bilaspur Division Jhalwara to Patwara on Katni-Satna Railway line. This will facilitate the movement of goods trains coming from Bilaspur towards Satna and Allahabad.

more... Central Railway said that there is a plan to decongest the Katni yard. The Grade Separator from Jhalwara will connect Satna line, survey has been done, map is ready. Its construction will be done by West Central Railway Zone.
Let us tell you that the country's first longest grade separator is also under construction in Katni. This flyover of about 14 km length on Katni-Singrauli line between Katangi Station to Majhgawan on Bina line will be ready by March 2022.
Barriers including electric poles, wires and trees are being removed before starting construction of grade separator to operate goods train. The process of land acquisition is going on for construction on private land around Murwara Railway Station. The PWI building and hostel flyover of the railway will be interrupted, which is being removed.
The work of this grade separator is being done by the Indian Railway Construction Limited (IRCON). IRCON GM Shubhmohan Singh said that between Katangi to Majhgawan total 31.5 km long up and down line grade separator will be built, construction has been started, target to complete the project is 2022.
The New Katni Junction (NKJ) Railway Yard is one of the largest railway yard in the country. There has been a record of 39 freight train evacuation in 24 hours during the last financial year. Trains run from NKJ Katni for Jabalpur, Bina, Satna, Singrauli and Bilaspur.
