In my opinion railways should make future train sets with this coach composition 6 general class coaches including luggage loading capacity , 6 sleeper coaches , 8 ac class coaches ( which can include third ac or second ac or first ac or can be a mixture of these coaches ) and ( either 1 ac coach or 2 ac coaches can be removed to add pantry car coach and extra luggage coach ) so 6+6+8 total 20 and 2 electric locos ( 1 at front side of whole trainset and 1 at back side of the whole trainset ) so 20 +2 total 22 coaches , so that instead of giving lhb rakes to some trains which runs on a longer path railways should directly convert those mail or express or superfast express trains into these trains sets and cost of making lhb coaches will also be reduced or...

saved due to directly conversion of mail or express train into train sets and rake reversal time of many trains will be reduced wnd cost of doing rake reversal of a train will also be reduced ( due to 2 engine 1 at back side of the trainset and 1 and front side of the train set ) and speed of all trains can be increased (due to 2 engine 1 at back side of the trainset and 1 and front side of the train set ) . Please give your opinion on this but please don't give any argument related to politics so that my post don't get archived.

Or either railways can apply this coach composition in in some upcoming amrit bharat express trains so that we can see that whether this coach composition for train sets will become a successful idea or will become a flop idea.

This Shatabdi runs with almost 16 coach VB train seating capacity and runs with 80-100% on Monday morning Friday evening and Saturday. Tuesday we'd and Thrusday has lesser occupancy. On these 3 days it can be extended to CDG which can be covered in 3hr. Kanpur 600 NDLS 1100/1110 CDG 1410 /1450 New Delhi 1750/1800 Kanpur 2310.
Extention to Ludiana is not possible as it's 313km.

and this is not the right season to gauge any train's occupancy. In this lean season, almost every train runs with available seats. And with decent occupancies with more than 50-60%, it is good if the train earns profit due to dynamic pricing.

Yeah , few VB's are launched as per the pressure from politicians, Meerut will see significant modern train transport be it RRTS or VB's. Shatabdi's cater intermediary stations as well. 1 T-Set can ideally do the UP and DN maybe they will change it in future or if it's extended beyond Lucknow to a far place it might work out

Haha yeah Kumud, I just saw the posts of Jamshedpur's VB's. Yeah right all these are new experiments the smallest of routes getting to a see a direct T-Set service over Passenger / InterCity. It will take a lot of time for the people to actually 'travel'.

(Nagpur Hyderabad wasn't in a dire need now rather the same must have tried between BOM-HYD with 2 rakes which would have been super hit. It might come up in future).

Coming to Shatabdi's I haven't been in route of CNB however I did see the posts pre era of Tejas and VB's that the crowd was ultimate. The premium Rajdhani were anyways the early morning and early evening group. if we consider seats these Shatabdi's were actually doing the job even with Dynamic prices. Yeah however the seats are vacant now.

Great to know that you've travelled in these trains and the VB's too. 😁

Probably they're just experimenting on which routes can sustain a VB. That's a different issue that they're failing in most of them. But a lot of routes will ultimately catch up.

Bombay-Hyderabad may need a sleeper version I suppose. No one would like to travel that much distance sitting.

think the over the top PR of VBs have snatched the passengers from Shatabdis. Because even Tejas was a new concept and we all know the fate it met. I think VBs are priced as such that they don't even need dynamic fares.
