What do you mean railways are MAKING the poor people pay more? Railways, run by the government is first of all not a privilege of the citizens but a service which needs to be paid for accordingly. India at the moment cannot afford to subsidise anything to this extent while being a developing country. The poor people have a choice, of travelling in various other means and the same poor people you are talking about(incl people staying in slums) have tata/videocon DTH's over their concrete houses or huts(please visit any slum in blr). When they can afford that, they can certainly afford to pay a little more to chip in to save our national transporter which is already bleeding from an unfair and rather a hypocritical expectation of lower fares and higher standards.

I do not understand what pseudo poverty struck people do you keep giving your views about, it wouldn't hurt anyone to pay even double the price existing at the moment of passenger trains, because even then it would be much cheaper than any other mode of transportation. Why dont anyone give their 'views' for the poor people's who cant afford KSRTC/BMTC/BMRC i dont understand.

Just by adding HSRA to SR/SA division nothing would change. Hosur already has trains running towards salem back to back in the evening and owing to steep gradients till thoppur and elephant zone the capacity of the line itself is less. I dont understand how you just seem to think that mere addition of a certain place in TN to SR, magically things would change overnight, the lack of logic behind this beats me.
.
Terminal facilities kind sir, or additional trains would be a possibility when Hosur-Krishnagiri Jolarpettai 65kms line is complete(to

connect Chennai and as an alternative route to SBC-MAS) towards which nothing is being done by the MP's or public representatives except putting up hoardings during elections or flex/vinyl prints before railway budgets.
.
Development of facilitites and the funds for it dont magically come out of the zone(except if freight or connectivity potential) unless there is a representation from the local people and their elected representatives. For everything you keep saying add to TN/SR, what a logic!

RM Suresh Prabhu today launched the first completely solar powered Demu (will not run on solar power). The solar panels installed at the top of this 6 coach Rake will provide auxiliary power to the coaches. This will save around 21,000 litres of Diesel costing around 12 lakhs per annum.

1 compliments
Sorry about that :)
Haha, i know sir! No comparision between power required for traction motors and the tiny wattage generated by solar panels. Was being sarcastic lil bit without deviating frm the topic :D

With the conversion of 16527/16528 into LHB coaches, it will be interesting to see as to how SWR uses the erstwhile ICF coaches of this train.
Maybe they can look at exploring the option of running overnight special trains towards either Kerala/TN/AP side. Fridays is always a huge rush, so would be great if an overnight train can be considered towards CBE/ERS .
This is a far fetched imagination though !!!!! Hope SWR uses the ICF rake intelligently !

SBC has enough trains to kerala or TN or AP(operated by SWR or SR/SCR), Let all district HQ's of KA be connected with its capital well first by SBC division rakes.
