Industrial Cities would get connected.
Ludhiana would get additional Mid Day Premium Option from/to New Delhi. New Delhi would get rid of stabling the rake.
Timing especially in return would automatically switch to Late Evening Departure from New Delhi towards Kanpur. Giving people more diversified option...

Agreed, there is no value proposition on a route which is 1.5 hours by road. Premium Train will be a total disaster on LDH-CDG route. Additionally any premium train between LDH-NDLS via CDG will be again a flop. There wont be any end to end pax, rather train will be left on the mercy of CDG to provide occupancy till NDLS.
Dedicated NDLS-LDH Shatabdi also flopped because it was taking a branch line route via Dhuri-Sangrur. Any NDLS-LDH premium connectivity will only be successful via UMB where it takes end to end...

Strongly agreed. Not only it would allow connection between Ludhiana and Kanpur, but would also give connections to Intermediate stations like panipat, ambala who prefer travelling to cities like kanpur, prayagraj, Lucknow without depending on trains originating from ndls.
Yes I had seen it on 23rd November 2023 while waiting for Katra Vande Bharat which got stuck due to Kisan Thingy.
Even at New Delhi Railway Station couple of times while waiting for New Delhi Mumbai Central Tejas Rajdhani.
Good Crowd all around.
Haven't really got a chance to travel due to Non Office Friendly Timings for Delhi People.

That might be too much if Ludhiana Extension comes to fruition. As it'll already arrive quite late in night at Kanpur.
