Bhai there are sections of length 200 - 250 km in trunk lines even that is dull as for passenger perspective and even NDLS- MAS line have Ghats and NDLS - HWH via Gaya have Ghats too but have railways ignored it in main line. No sections laid with 130 mps at initial they have upgraded gradually.
Even the freights run on KMZ- BINA - KOTA section and TATA- BSP routes but they have significant number of express / Superfast trains but why this region has been neglected. I am...
more... not exaggerating but a train.
These GHD- CPU- SGRL- KTE sections are laid 50 years back if railways have upgraded infrastructure then this could easily have been 3rd route Kolkata Mumbai and the current load of NGP- BSL- TATA has been distributed significantly . The Kolkata Mumbai routes firstly via TATA- BSP- NGP, Second via GAYA- PCOI- JBP- ET- BSL and third via SGRL ( Shaktipunj route ). Every thing is about intension the railways never looked and utilized this section to its full potential.
12873 is slow due to single line in Chopan to Garhwa road now its almost doubled now JSJ might get speeded up by 30-45 minutes also Ghats in Chunar Chopan and low mps of 60kmph only but as doubling has been announced IN CAR-CPU the section can cater trains well in coming years.
Bhai SGRL- NZM and SGRL- BPL are above 90% full on every run I have in Singrauli for 10 years., you can do RTI here in IRI it is misconception here on IRI that these trains are not providing passengers . You too can track the occupancy . Here is blog to refer
/blog/post/5866699These 2 trains provide great relief to people of Singrauli sonbhadra . How can you expect patronage in kolkata bound weekly trains when trains have just 30-40 seats quota at SGRL, RNQ , DTO.
To conclude
Revenues are directly proportional to number of trains, no on can expect humongous revenue with just 5-10 trains. DHN division with limited trains in CIC these stations are in top 100 of ECR SGRL, CPU, RNQ, DXN , NUQ, GHQ, GHD, DTO, BRKA, LTHR, TORI, CRP, RRME.
