Manguluru has originating 3 trains to Chennai and another 3 to Trivandrum. Here is the analysis of the occupancies of the trains.
The figures are availability from Manguluru in the order Sleeper 3AC 2AC.

The trend shows majority of the occupancies are from Kerala after Kasargod and Manguluru is a terminal. Railway should construct 2 stabling lines with water and general maintenance facility at Kasargod or nearby station and terminate trains Malabar exp, Parsuram exp and Vande Bharat leaving in morning to TVM, weekly YPR to Manguluru exp, 16324 coimbatore intercity slow train. Manguluru terminal with 2 stabling lines 1 pitline and 2 PFs should be dedicated to Karnataka bound trains in Manguluru central. Manguluru should be provided more quota in Maveli and Manguluru Chennai mai and place stations after Kasargod in RLWL.

When majority of travellers are from kannur and Kozhikode there is no point in extending Vande Bharat to Manguluru in future and pave way for MANGULURU to Benguluru Vande Bharat morning dep in future.

Mangalore has not 3 trains but 5 dedicated daily trains to TVC. Parashuram, Ernakulam, Maveli, Malabar and 16347 MAQ TVC Express.

Similarly Mangalore has not 3 but 4 dedicated daily trains to Chennai. 12602 Chennai Mail, 12686 SF, West Coast and MAQ Egmore express. Irony is that none of these Trains are running on shortest route (i.e., via Hassan, KJM) - via Karnataka areas.

But Mangalore has zero dedicated daily trains to it's state capital Bangalore, and all odd trains are run by SWR, though MAQ MAJN are in SR jurisdiction.
It is high time MAQ is out of SR PGT division.

How about developing Old Mangalore Port as a terminal for SR and existing MAQ station hand over to SWR/ KR?
Old Port is very near to MAQ and has lines also.

If done, SR can run any number of trains from there via SRR. SWR/ KR can Trains from MAQ to Konkan/ towards Hassan and beyond.

It is highly unlikely that more zones and divisions will be formed and stations will shift from one div to another. I do remember seeing a report where railways has flagged this mentioning that addition of new divisions has only created more operational bottlenecks and if one demand is considered then there will be similar requests from other places as well. From 2014 till 2017 there have been demands for 26 new zones and 53 new divisions and all were found to be without merit. In the case of MAQ if PGT div can manage more receipt and dispatch of trains in MAQ once new PF is commissioned and get more favourable timings for intra state trains that can solve the problem to some extent, however I do understand that demand to move it out of SR will always be there.

I am not asking any new division or zone. Just asking for transfer of Mangalore and surrounding 35 kms line from SR PGT to SWR MYS or KR KAWR.

All development works at MAQ lead to more and more trains towards Shoranur and nothing for Karnataka.
Not even one train is run between MAQ and SBC by SR and still trying

to take the already extended SBC CAN to CLT!!.

As SR PGT is neglecting Karnataka areas, let them hand over to SWR or KR. For their needs, let SR PGT develop any other station lije KGQ, CAN, CLT etc.

That is what I mentioned as well. Realignment of station or moving it to another zone is a highly unlikely chance. These were the things that have already been flagged as non viable and further affecting operations. Of course it is obvious that there will be no end to such demands. People will keep demanding and one cannot stop them. Vizag want to move out of ECor, MAQ out of SR, DHN has their own need, Ranchi feels they don't get importance. Gulbarga want to move out of CR !!!!. So many such requests
