Even VSG NGT bypasses YPR.
Given that ERS-BAND remains at Banaswadi for almost 14 hours, this train can be easily looked at for extending to Shivamogga. I think there was some discussion around this doing the rounds. Shivamogga can also end up having direct connectvity to towns like Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Thrissur,Ernakulam. Can be a good option for passengers from these places during Sabarimala season as well.
All depends on SWR if they are willing to explore this option?
Those trains are SR ERS based operating to long distance to GJ RJ and extention to any part will further increase the round trip by 600km. It needs to be seen whether SM PM cycles with distances from ERS as well as in WR can accomodate extention. If it is an independent rake then extention will not be a problem. But best part would be to increase frequency of Hubli TVC exp to biweekly or 4 days such that the quota will be allocated upto Tumkur.
I think UBL-KCVL slot is being used on other days by other trains ( ERS Band, YPR-KCVL AC exp). Maybe one day is still available. But then UBL-KCVL does it have any independent rake or is it rake sharing with some other train. That option can be explored
