Google Maps shows complete decimation of Budhni Ghats between Itarsi and Bhopal when seen in satellite view. It was such a beautiful Ghat section, but looks like all trees have been cut down. Could not find any news reference to why the entire Ghat forest has been cut down. There was a news item about a line to Indore through Budhni Ghats being approved. If that is the excuse to kill the forest, it is very shameful. :(
There have been many members who have captured wonderful videos of the Ghat section in either direction.

Photos are taken in summer time maybe. If encroachment was done to the lush green forest then it's a pathetic state of development.

Brother Budni Ghats consist Deciduos Forest, infact whole Madhya Pradesh consist mostly of Deciduous type of Forest, those are not evergreen, these satallite pics are taken in Summer when it is least green. While it is true that due to HBJ-ET 3rd line and Budni-Indore line, some trees are cut down, but with permission from NGT. Wese it is not possible to completly cut forest down because it is part of Ratapani Santuary which has significant Tiger population and maybe soon it will be decalared as Tiger Reserve and National Park, Indian Goverent will never grant permission to cut down complete forest of Budni.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
