Also another reason could be keeping the wait listed passengers in suspense till journey date on confirming the berth.

Fuel wont get recover in near future. OPEC expecting 80 dollor per barrel by 2020 only that means another 5 years. That's also not known as alternate energy hitting market. So railways will get tough competition from budget airlines for next decade also.

yes.
Actually airlines in some sectors is much better than trains. Example for next week Banglore to Vizag its cost 1611 rs where as getting ticket in AC class for next week from SBC-VSKP is very difficult. Flight fare cheaper than Tatkal 3A in this sector.
Also as its 20 hrs journey, 2 times food is required. That means minimum 200 rs plus water ,Tea, Sancks bottels 50 rs minimum per person ( Actually it will be more).
But

advantage with flight is just 1 hr 30 min where as 20 hrs journey on train. That's why 5 daily flights now between Banglore to Vizag, but railways has no dedicated regular train in this route.
Atleast BBS-BNC Suvidha TT should have been better.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
