If the entire Mangalore region is given to one agency, there will be ownership. Now, all 3 zones -- KR, SWR and SR are shifting onus of providing trains to other two zones. Forget MAQ and MAJN disagreements for a moment; not even one train from MAQ to any where in North and Central Karnataka. Net result is big zero to public.
Each zone is good in one or the other aspect.
1. SR is good in scheduling trains through their territory and managing the arrival/ departure timings in their zone well....

2. KR is good in executing projects in time and working in challenging conditions. As KR does not own rolling stock, they depend on SWR.
3. SWR is good in complicating even the simple matter, serving their neigbouring zone locations and dancing to the tunes of bus lobbies.
Let us wait for budget.
