This discussion started from somewhere and went everywhere else. I feel Karnataka should get priority in introducing SBC-Mumbai and intrastate trains connecting many districts within state.
My suggestions are as follows:-
1. SBC-CSTM/ LTT via GTL,GR,SUR SBC. The timings should be in such a way that only one day is spent and not 2 days. Dep by 1900 hours GR 0600, SUR 0800, PUNE 1130, CST 1530. Return CST/ LTT dep by 1900, PUNE 2300, SUR 0300, GR 0500, SBC 1600. The timings should be in such a way that...
more... only one day is spent and not 2 days. Alternately, SBC Dep by 1000 CST/ LTT by 0700 and LTT/ CST dep by 0800 with SBC arr 0530.
2. For connectivity within Karnataka, trains should be introduced in the available under utilised lines with new termination points. One such stn can be Hassan. Hassan can act as a gateway point to Dharmasthala/ Subrahmanya which can be accessed by road within 3-4 hours. This arrangement can be there till HMRDA stays. Few connections can be
Hassan-Hubli-Bijapur, Hassan-CTA-BAY-GTL-GR/ BIDR, HAS-BGM-MRJ-KOP.
3. MAQ-MAO-UBL-GTL-RC,
4. MAQ -MAO-LD-BGM-PVR-SUR-GR-BIDR.
5. MAQ-ASK-BAY-HPT-GDG-BJP.
6. UBL-GTL-DMM-TPTY-MAS.
7. GR-BJP-UBL-DVG-BIRUR-SMET.
8. SMET/ CMGR-BIRUR-UBL-MRJ-PUNE
9. CMNR-MYS-HAS-CMGR
10. End to End of Karnataka -- CMNR-MYS-SBC-GTL-RC-GR-BIDR
All these routes/ trains can be introduced on existing lines. No addl lines or investments. Only some application of brains.
