I booked this from PNVL to SRR for 31st May on opening day via IRCTC and the booking was butter smooth. Checked the availability in the same evening which showed AVL for 3rd AC. May be it is because of holiday season ending. Anyone tried while peak days?

There were few seats available in AC coach even 20 days before booking. After than it goes to RAC or GNWL. This was when I booked ticket on May this year. On non peak season, you will find tickets on current availability almost all the time sometimes even in 3 and 2 ac coach.

Thanks for the info. Please elaborate further - between which stations is catering available/not available. Is it also applicable for the Return Journey? The same will be updated in the train page.

From LTT-Calicut, no food is available except some snacks like vada pav etc., Even in Mangalore junction and many other stations, its very hard to find any eatables.. I was running end to end of the platform and could found only some fruits and genuine water bottles in just one shop... There were only coffees and no Tea in many stations till Calicut. In the return I've no idea for this particular train. In overall experience in the Konkan route for the past one year, all of the trains in the route face the similar problem. You've to carry food from home if no pantry car is there in any of the train. If your train schedule is good, you can get food at Madgaon and you may pre order as well..
