Matheran is a QUITE and scenic hill station near Mumbai where motored vehicle are not allowed. It is located in western Ghats at 804 meters above MSL. The Matheran Hill Railway ( 2 Ft NG ) was built in 1907 by Sir Adamjee Peerbhoy and covers a distance of 21 Kms from Neral, the starting point on CSTM-KARJAT section. Brilliant coverage of Matheran toy train, have traveled long back but the blue livery was totally different then.

Even though the toy train is not running, you got to roof-ride on a 1 HP loco after all!!
Yes Sir, It was an amazing experience to have Horse Ride for about 2&1/2 Hrs to reach matheran with sightseeing enroute. This along with KR trip on Kurla-Ratnagiri section including Mahabaleshwar can be a good itenary for our CONVENTION...
