This used to be Lucknow Mathura Express originally, IIRC. That's the reason it still loops around to Mathura instead of taking the direct route from Agra towards Rajasthan.

Eithercase, this used to be a rather sparse train with few AC coaches and NO FIRST AC back in ICF days. Tickets were easily available until it was rush season [ read: holidays in coaching hub Kota ]. I once saw it's WL rush to four hundred the day it opened before going into REGRET.

It was announced as 4201 LKO AGC Exp (lst train in Tab 37A) - /blog/post/1222921 #nzTT2004 even no is different now.

however perhaps due to lack of stabling lines @ AGC, it ran as LKO MTJ since day1. den PNBE. and later KOTA at the other end.

Ah yes, it runs via another route b/w Etawah and Agra now. It used to run originally via the normal Tundla line, I think.
