On Saturday, a dozen trackmen working on laying a new line at Cantt and Vyasnagar stations in Varanasi fainted due to heatstroke. They were treated at the railway hospital. The incident is suspected to have been caused by excessive workload, intense sunlight, and sweltering humidity.

वाराणसी के कैंट और व्यास नगर स्टेशनों पर नई लाइन बिछाने के काम में लगे दर्जन भर ट्रैकमैन शनिवार को गर्मी के कारण बेहोश हो गए। रेलवे अस्पताल में उनका इलाज किया गया। अत्यधिक कार्यभार, तेज धूप और भयानक उमस के कारण बेहोश होने की आशंका है।

Varanasi ke Cantt aur Vyasnagar stations pe ek nayi line bichane ka kaam kar rahe the, tab dozen trackmen Saturday ko gash khake gir gaye. Unka ilaaj railway hospital mein kiya gaya. Itna zyada workload, tej dhoop aur bhayanak umas ki wajah se gash aane ki sambhavna hai.

के साथ एक बैठक भी की, जिसमें पीडीडीयू जंक्शन से वाराणसी रेलखंड को जाने वाली ट्रेनों के बेहतर संचालन और समयबद्धता पर चर्चा हुई। व्यासनगर स्टेशन को 'अमृत भारत योजना' के तहत विकसित करने के लिए चुना गया है। वेदव्यास के नाम से बने इस स्टेशन को आधुनिक साज-सज्जा के साथ विकसित किया जाएगा। शर्मा ने 'अमृत भारत योजना' के तहत हो रहे विकास कार्यों का जायजा लिया और विभागीय अधिकारियों को दिशा निर्देश दिया। उन्होंने स्टेशन के पास जर्जर आवासों का भी निरीक्षण किया और रेलकर्मियों की शिकायत के बाद, उनकी मरम्मत कराने का निर्देश दिया। शर्मा ने पीडीडीयू रेल मंडल के डीआरएम राजेश गुप्ता से भी मुलाक़ात की और दोनों ने ट्रेन संचालन को बेहतर बनाने, समय पर चलने, और साथ में काम करके ये सब हासिल करने पर बात की। बैठक में ये समझौता हुआ कि यात्रियों के फ़ायदे के लिए ट्रेन संचालन को बेहतर बनाया जाएगा।

Two women boarded the coach and then exited, followed by a young man who snatched Shweta's chain and jumped off the moving train.
