The new station Chikhloli is expected to be ready by 2023
The railway ministry on Monday approved a new halt station between Ambernath and Badlapur stations on Central Railway (CR).

The construction work of Chikhloli railway station, which is expected to cost Rs10,947 crore, will be undertaken by the Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC). The project is a part of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP)-3A. Land assessment and joint measurement surveys for the new station were conducted recently by the railway and civic authorities.
Chikhloli’s construction will be carried out under the construction work of the third and fourth railway lines between Kalyan and Badlapur stations.
Passenger associations have welcomed the move and have asked the railway authorities to introduce the station as a fully functional suburban station.
“There has been a demand for the station for over 10 years. The station will reduce overcrowding from Badlapur as the distance between Badlapur and Ambernath is long. The station should not be introduced as a halt station but must directly be opened as a suburban railway station,” said Lata Argade, secretary, Suburban Railway Passenger Association.

अंबरनाथ-बदलापूरदरम्यान नव्या स्थानकासाठी रेल्वे बोर्डाकडे प्रस्ताव म. टा. विशेष प्रतिनिधी, ठाणे अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर रेल्वे स्थानकादरम्यानचे चिखलोली रेल्वे स्टेशन हे आर्थिकदृष्ट्या फायद्याचे ठरणारे नसले तरी प्रवाशांच्या सुविधांसाठी ते नक्कीच उपयुक्त ठरणार आहे. त्यामुळे ‘हॉल्ट’ स्टेशनच्या निकषावर चिखलोली रेल्वे स्थानकाला मंजुरी द्यावी, अशी मागणी करणारे पत्र मध्य रेल्वेचे मुख्य वाणिज्य अधिकारी एस. पी. दुधे यांनी रेल्वे बोर्डाला पाठविले आहे. त्यामुळे गेल्या अनेक वर्षांपासून चर्चेत असलेले हे स्टेशन दृष्टिपथात आल्याचे सांगितले जात आहे. अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर रेल्वे स्थानकादरम्यान चिखलोली स्थानकाची उभारणी करावी, अशी मागणी गेल्या २०-२५ वर्षांपासून केली जात आहे. मात्र, या भागातील प्रवासी संख्या कमी असल्यामुळे रेल्वे प्रशासन त्याबाबत गांभीर्याने विचार करत नव्हते. गेल्या काही वर्षांत अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर या शहरांचा झपाट्याने विस्तार होत असून इथली लोकसंख्या आणि दोन्ही स्टेशनातील प्रवासी संख्याही लक्षणीय वाढली आहे. त्यामुळे या मागणीने पुन्हा जोर धरला आहे. नाहूर, कोपर रेल्वे स्थानकाच्या धर्तीवर अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर दरम्यान, नवे चिखलोली हे स्थानक व्हावे, अशी मागणी केली...

जात आहे. रेल्वे प्रशासनाने त्यासाठी आवश्यक असलेले सर्वेक्षण पूर्ण केले आहे. चिखलोली स्थानक व्हावे, यासाठी अंबरनाथ नगरपालिकेने तसा प्रस्ताव रेल्वे मंत्रालयाकडे यापूर्वीच पाठवलेला आहे. या भागातील शिवसेनेचे विद्यमान खासदार डॉ. श्रीकांत शिंदे यांनीही त्याबाबतचा पाठपुरावा सुरू ठेवलेला आहे. ३ सप्टेंबर, २०१६ आणि १० ऑक्टोबर, २०१७ रोजी रेल्वे मंत्रालयाकडे पत्रव्यवहार करणाऱ्या शिंदे यांनी मार्च, २०१७ मध्ये झालेल्या अधिवेशनातही या स्थानकाच्या मंजुरीची मागणी केली होती. त्या प्रयत्नांना आता यश येताना दिसत आहे. प्रशासनाचा भूमिकाबदल विरळ लोकवस्ती आणि प्रवासी संख्या कमी असल्याने लोकलला थांबा देता येणार नाही, ही आपली भूमिका रेल्वे प्रशासनाने आता बदलली आहे. अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर या दोन्ही शहरांच्या मध्यावर असलेल्या या स्थानकामुळे या दोन्ही स्थानकांवर येणारा ताण कमी होणार असून आर्थिक व्यवहार्यतेचा विचार न करता प्रवाशांच्या सोयीसाठी ‘हॉल्ट’ स्टेशन उभारीवे, अशी विनंती रेल्वे बोर्डाकडे करण्यात आली आहे. स्थानकाचा प्रवास रेल्वे बोर्डाने १९९९ साली १२ क्रमांकाचे जे परिपत्रक काढले होते, त्यातील २.१ या परिच्छेदात अशा ‘हॉल्ट’ स्थानकाला परवानगी देण्याचा उल्लेख आहे. त्या आधारावर ही परवानगी मागण्यात आली आहे. अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर रेल्वे स्थानकातील अंतर ७.४४ किमी इतके आहे. अंबरनाथपासून ४.३४ आणि बदलापूरपासून ३.१ किमी अंतरावर चिखलोली स्थानक प्रस्तावित करण्यात आले आहे.

मध्य रेल्वेच्या उपनगरीय मार्गावर गेल्या काही वर्षांमध्ये नाहूर, कोपरसारखी नवी स्थानके उभारण्यात आली आहेत. याच धर्तीवर अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर दरम्यान, नवे चिखलोली हे स्थानक व्हावे या दृष्टीने रेल्वे प्रशासनाने सर्वेक्षण पूर्ण केले आहे. त्यामुळे या परिसरातील प्रवाशांना आता ‘चिखलोली’ या नव्या स्थानकाचे वेध लागले आहेत. अंबरनाथ हद्दीतील चिखलोली या गावामध्ये रेल्वेचे हे स्थानक व्हावे यासाठी अंबरनाथ नगरपालिकेने तसा प्रस्ताव रेल्वे मंत्रालयाकडे पाठवला आहे. अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर या दोन्ही शहरांच्या मध्यावर असलेल्या या स्थानकामुळे या दोन्ही स्थानकांवर येणारा ताण कमी होण्यास मदत होणार आहे.चिखलोली स्थानक व्हावे यासाठी येथील नागरिक आणि लोकप्रतिनिधी १९७८ पासून मागणी करीत आहेत. खासदारांकडून त्या संदर्भात पाठपुरावे करणारी पत्रे पाठवण्यात आली आहेत. मात्र विरळ लोकवस्तीच्या या भागामध्ये लोकल गाडय़ांना थांबा देण्यास रेल्वे प्रशासनाने सुरुवातीला निरुत्साह दाखवला होता. मात्र गेल्या दहा वर्षांमध्ये चिखलोली परिसरातील लोकसंख्येत वाढ झाली आहे. शिवाय अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर या दोन्ही शहरांच्या दिशेने नवनवी गृहसंकुले उभी राहत आहेत. या वाढत्या लोकसंख्येचा प्रवासी भार अंबरनाथ आणि बदलापूर या...

दोन्ही स्थानकांवर भार पडू लागला आहे. डोंबिवलीच्या नंतरची सर्वाधिक गर्दीची स्थानके म्हणून या स्थानकांची ओळख झाली आहे. त्यामुळे या दोन्ही स्थानकांच्या मध्यावर ‘चिखलोली’ हे स्थानक व्हावे, अशी मागणी वाढू लागली असून रेल्वेनेसुद्धा या संदर्भातील अभ्यास पूर्ण केला आहे.
कर्जत-कल्याण प्रवास सोईचाकल्याणपासून कर्जतपर्यंत सध्या केवळ दोन रेल्वे मार्ग अस्तित्वात असून त्यावरून लोकल, लांब पल्ल्याच्या गाडय़ांसह मालगाडय़ांचीही वाहतूक सुरू आहे. या रुळांवर एखाद्या गाडीचे इंजिन नादुरुस्त झाल्यास या भागातील संपूर्ण वाहतूक खंडित होते. ते टाळण्यासाठी रेल्वेच्या २०१३-१४ अर्थसंकल्पात कल्याण-कर्जत तिसऱ्या रेल्वेमार्गाची घोषणा करण्यात आली आहे. या भागातून अधिकचा रेल्वे रूळ टाकण्यात आल्यास लोकल गाडय़ांची संख्या वाढवण्यास त्याची मदत होऊ शकणार आहे. शिवाय लोकल गाडय़ांवरील ताण कमी होण्यास मदत होऊ शकेल.सद्यस्थिती : रेल्वेच्या २०१३-१४ च्या अर्थसंकल्पात या रेल्वे रुळाला मंजुरी मिळाली असली तरी त्यासाठी पुरेशी आर्थिक तरतूद करण्यात आलेली नाही. रेल्वेने नुकतेच या भागातील रेल्वे रुळांच्या आजूबाजूच्या परिसराचे सर्वेक्षण केले आहे. शिवाय स्थानिक प्रशासकीय अधिकाऱ्यांशी संवाद साधून जागेसंदर्भातील तांत्रिक दोष दूर करण्यास सुरुवात झाली आहे.
स्थानकांसाठी पायाभूत सुविधा..कल्याणच्या पुढे स्थानकांच्या पायाभूत सुविधांचा विकास व्हावा या दृष्टीने येथील रेल्वे प्रवासी संघटना सतत रेल्वे प्रशासनाकडे मागणी करत आहेत. येथील सुरक्षेच्या दृष्टीने रेल्वे सुरक्षा दलामध्ये वाढ करण्यात आली आहे. त्याचबरोबरीने या भागात नवे रेल्वे पोलीस ठाणे निर्माण व्हावे, प्रत्येक स्थानकाला सीसीटीव्ही कॅमेऱ्यांचे संरक्षण मिळावे, अशी मागणी येथून होत आहेत. या भागातील फाटक ओलांडण्यासाठी आणि वाहतुकीसाठी पुलाची मागणी आहे. वांगणी येथे कारशेडची निर्मिती करण्यात आल्याने कर्जतकडून येणाऱ्या प्रवाशांना त्याचा लाभ होण्यास सुरुवात झाली आहे, अशी माहिती रेल्वे प्रवासी संघटनेचे मनोहर शेलार यांनी दिली.
