After the trial, the train will be hauled back to Ahmedabad on the same day and sent to Lucknow the next day. The route has undergone significant upgrades to prepare for the 160 kmph trials, including safety barrier installations, bridge enhancements, and track upgrades. The upgrades aim to reduce the journey time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad by 45-60 minutes. The estimated cost of the project within Western Railway's jurisdiction is ₹3,959 crore, while the overall budget for the route till Delhi is ₹10,000 crore. Currently, over 50 trains, including Vande Bharat, Tejas, and Shatabdi Express, run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The railways is working to expedite train journeys on the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah corridors.
