No plan to share land for SilverLine: Southern Railway

The Southern Railway has stated that they have not yet decided to share railway land for the proposed SilverLine Project. This decision comes after the Railway Board expressed reservations about the project's viability, which was formulated without considering future railway development plans. While the land survey was conducted jointly, the...

Southern Railway later submitted a report highlighting its reluctance to cede land. This report also addressed speculation that the Railway might drop plans for a third line between Ernakulam and Shoranur in exchange for land sharing. The Railway has confirmed that the third line project remains on track. Furthermore, despite discussions with K-Rail officials, the Southern Railway maintains that the project lacks financial and technical feasibility, as noted by the Railway Minister in June 2020. survey toh Railway aur K-Rail ne saath mein kiya tha, par Southern Railway ne baad mein ek report submit kiya, jismein unhone land share karne ki reluctance dikhaayi. Is report mein is speculation ko bhi address kiya gaya ki Railway Ernakulam aur Shoranur ke beech third line ka plan drop kar sakta hai, agar woh SilverLine ke liye land share karta hai. Railway ne confirmed kiya hai ki third line ka project chal raha hai. Aur bhi, K-Rail officials ke saath discussions ke baad, Southern Railway yeh kehta hai ki June 2020 mein Railway Minister ne observe kiya tha ki project financially aur technically viable nahi hai. Modified project report abhi tak nahi aaya hai. K-Rail ne in claims ka jawab dete hue kaha hai ki unhone Southern Railway ko project ke liye saare details provide kar diye hain, jismein land sketch bhi hai. Unhone yeh bhi kaha hai ki project report mein koi technical flaws nahi hai aur land sharing ka final decision Railway Board ko lena hai.
