Instead a loop line between Kengeri and Yeshwantpur along the ring road will be more cost effective. This will enable trains to Mysore from Tumkur to avoid Bangalore City. From Yeshwantpur, the link to Bangarpet is also available

How will you come up with a railway line in city ring road with has residential settlements on both sides now. Building a over head Rail over bridge for a length of 25km like metro line is a expensive affair and getting cost back is difficult for a diversion.

The report says that the cost of building 42km line is 426cr in 2010 which includes land acquisition and RB asked to cut the costs and also avoid getting into Bannerghatta national park. Now in 2022 the cost of building 1km is 10-15cr and it cost around Rs 500cr without land acquisition cost. Pherpheral Ring road is proposed about 15+yrs and as state govt and BMRDA(or then organisations) could afford land acquisition was finally taken up by centre through NHAI and the cost is now around rs 200cr per km. So will the railways be spend hefty amount while state govt will not be able to spend on land acquisition.

SWR is not able to find ways to connect Hosur line with YNK side. A simple 2 kms link could not be done. Here, some are dreaming of new line on Ring roads!!.
