After the accident, passengers evacuated the train through the AC coach doors or the train doors. The authorities, including the railway administration, police, and CRPF, reached the site approximately 45 minutes after the incident and began assisting the passengers. The district administration sent seven buses and several ambulances from Chakradharpur to the site. Passengers were transported to Chakradharpur Railway Station in ambulances, buses, and CRPF trucks, starting at 7:00 AM and continuing until around 10:00 AM. After the Ernakulam-Tata Express arrived at Tatanagar Chakradharpur Railway Station, passengers were transported from Chakradharpur to Tatanagar Railway Station in three buses. The Singhbhum Bus Owners Association arranged buses at Chakradharpur station and sent six buses to the accident site in Barabambo, along with railway staff, CRPF personnel, and administration officials. Passengers were transported from Barabambo to Tatanagar in three buses. A bus from Sacred Heart English School also transported passengers from Barabambo to Chakradharpur Railway Station, while some passengers were transported to Chaibasa Railway Station by small vehicles.
