NASHIK: The Indian Railways' move to increase Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC) quota in coaches has been partially welcomed by commuters saying this will help people travel...
this should not be welcomed. if IR decideds that RAC passenger will have to pay 60% of the fare + charges for bed roll@ Rs. 25/- then decision should be welcomed.
Timing of this step (increasing number of RAC berths by IR) is a strong indication that the move is aimed at increasing revenue ans not facilitating paxs!
If this is the case then if u book the ticket in WL it I'll end up in RAC for sure. Ifs its day journey its OK but for night it I'll be inconvenient to co passengers and I'll be travelling at full cost with less comfort. Side berth are not convenient to sleep in sitting position like in buses.
