I really hope that Vasco now gets a proper importance in terms of rail connectivity.

Whether you agrree or not is not a question. the Goa Express takes the wrong route. Just becuase it started way before the KR, does not mean the route should not change. The Netravati, 12432/31 Rajdhani used to follow another route, till the introduction of the KR and today Malyalees benefit. The GOa Express is just not Goa Express as it serves more of the other states than Goa. Any fool will agree with this,

And to you Goa express also serves a purpose of Goa Miraj connectivity and also Goa to Pune and Shirdi connection and if Goa express is routed via Pune what happens of SVM and QLM are they not a part of Goa ?
And what happens if KR absorbs it for themselves and terminates it at Madgaon or Karmali instead of Vasco ?
And what if they don't give it the same priority it gets in SWR ?

By not going through KR it serves more of Goa than it would with KR, as there are plenty of trains via KR anyways. In case of netravati or TVC rajdhani diverting via KR had no affect on how much stations it served in Kerala, and since there was a huge time benefit, it made sense to do so via KR. Even then, there are trains in kerala that go via PUNE rather than KR to serve intermediate passengers in other state.

Yeah people just don't realize that Goa is not just KR but also other places majority of KR just serves North Goa whereas South Goa is served by SWR route.
I have travelled frequently in Goa express and have seen many end to end passengers in it also many Goans travel to Pandharpur in it by getting down at Miraj and Shirdi pilgrims by getting down at Kopergaon.
For VSG, SVM, QLM and places nearby to it Goa express is a dedicated connectivity to Delhi its my personal experience as a Goan native.
