What is RQWL? 119 Answers What is RQWL? Its Request Waiting List. This happens when starting & destination falls under different Pooled or Remote Quota. eg. Pune-NDLS, If ticket is booked from Daund to Itarsi & its under waiting, it will come under RQWL, as DD & ET are into different pool. Priority-wise, it gets clearance @ last. Wrong explanation, Pooled quota covers all stations cause its end to end quota. can some one properly explain what exactly it is? and priority RQWL gets??? Apr 03 2010 (21:54) Blog Post# 28555-4 delhimurlidhargmail.com Added by: moderator^~ Jul 27 2011 (07:02) @Gurubhai: Entry# 28555 RQWL is Remote Quota Waitling List not Request Quota Waitlist !!! You have been wrongly informed. This is used for intermediate stations on the train route... PQWL is pooled quota waitlist which is quotas of nearby stations pooled together to form this list, that is smaller stations having small quotas, one/two/three each are pooled together to form this waitlist. ... more... Your explanation of Pooled Quota is completely wrong, even after so many discussions in this forum. Pooled Quota is end to end quota, does not belong to any intermediate stations. And what priority does RQWL get? Last Can u share your PNR number? plz guys i m not concerned with Pooled Quota...i have RQWL...plz tell me what priority it has??? I have given you reply abt RQWL only, not PQWL 210-4721403 what chance does it have? Sometimes, the system is defined in such a way, that for some quotas, passengers are put directly under RQWL. When the charting is done and if the system detects that some berths are vacant for this segment, the system confirms such RQWL passengers. PQWL is a different WL. RQWL is not Remote Quota Waitling List, Remote Quota WL is denoted as RLWL. RQWL does not stand for Request Quota WL, its just Request WL ('RQ' there is for Request). so is my chance of confirmation very low or what? ???? Can utell me plz, wht u mean by this explanation?????? Pune-MMR, Jalgaon-Bhusawal-Itarsi, Bhopal-Gwalior, AGC-NDLS. Presume these to be different Pooled Quotas for NZM-NDLS Express. Now if someone is having Waiting say in between Khandwa-Jhansi, which pool it falls under, coz both fall under different pool. Its... more... U better read some explanations to get to knw about PQWL. RLWL & PQWL are nearby same, only used by different zones in IR. In PQWL small nearby stations are pooled up with big station having more quota (DD, Ahmednagar, Kopergaon MMR with Pune), while in RLWL, small in between station are provided their own quota (BSB, SLN, JAUNPUR, MUSAFIRKHANA, NIHALGAH, LKO having differet Quota for Shramjeevi Express) But... more... Plz recheck with RQWL meaning, ,, Dont mix it up with RLWL. RQWL - Request PQWL - Pooled I cannot presume Pune-MMR, Jalgaon-Bhusawal-Itarsi, Bhopal-Gwalior, AGC-NDLS., because Pooled quota is end to end quota. Invalid presumption. Go onthis link, check & then reply about PQWL understanding!!!! /pnr/blog/28725 Thats correct. The tickets from Ernakulam to Nizamuddin for 2431 are issued from PQ, which is a end to end quota. I guess you will have to go to multiple blogs and find out what is Pooled Quota. ERS isnt end station for this train. & for your info, ERS & Trivendrum are far apart to be pooled in one single Quota!!!!!!! The quota is end to end, does not mean that the berths are allocated end to end. Do a detailed serach on this blog, visit railway station to see charts put up on station as well as pasted on trains, if you still dont get it, anyways I am there to explain. Do a detailed search in this blog, you will find what PQ is. Go to the nearest big railway station to check the charts and also charts pasted on trains, you will get confirmed information. Put some effort, if you are still not successful, I am there to help you. Sir, every bit is explained in the two WL PNR i mentioned in the blog!!!! N i have my source of information through various rail sites (IRFCA) to back-up & believe Pool Quota definition. For ur info, station doesnt make the WL Quota allocation, but zones or DRM offices & station staff doesnt know mch about WDM or WAP, so i do doubt they knw any thing more about the RL-PQ-RS etc!!! Lets... more... I will end this explanation with details of PQ, only after ppl have given up. U arnt discussing, just u have one lame excuse end-to-end, without logic. U dont have any reply, even when u have been provided with live examples!!!! Train from LTT-GKP, is issued PQWL between LTT & ALD, itself shows the pool falls in between station not end-to-end!!! (If WL would have been in between LTT-MAU, then it certainly have been fallen under GNWL not PQWL... more... /pnr/8141778572 Y its not PQWL??????? See, you dont want to do any analysis. Do one thing, just search through all my previous posts, and you will find answer yourself. Check this blog 27070. All analysis i have posted...u short of words nw, ,,, U always have mentioned end-to-end & i gave u examples of end-to-end as GNWL, while in between stations as PQWL.... Seems u surrendered Mr. MST & no point u hav left to debate on, so just writing one or two liner, which arent logical at all. I referred entry post # 27070 and posted my reply therein. There I have posted the details of a PNR No. which contradicts your views on PQWL / RLWL. At the end, the picture which comes out from all this is that Railways never use strictly the terms / quotas which are generally understood / analysed by the travellers and the Railways on their own, keep on changing the booking settings suitable to their interests and conveniences ... Friends, refer Entry# 28909, I have taken a lot of efforts to explain PQ, its uasge, PQWL. I have done this explicitly for you guys. This will answer as to why end to end passengers in GNWL, why intermediate in PQ etc etc. All that you want to know abt PQ, with 2 different examples. . Note that this has costed me more than 1 hour to type. Count the number of lines I have written in Entry# 28909. Its all for you dear friend. I really appreciate ur efforts Mr. MST. Below is the FAQ from IRFCA Blog www.irfca.org/faq/faq-travel.html A Pooled Quota Waiting List ('PQWL') is shared by several small stations in a particular region. E.g., Tiruppur, Salem, etc., share in the quota and wait list for some trains originating from Trivandrum or Mangalore. As another example, the 2723 Andhra Pradesh Exp. has three quotas, for Secunderabad -... more... IRFCA is nothing but again a kind of blog site that we have. Who knows, one fine day, IRFCA would start referencing the information that we put up. But none of these site are official. Anyways, good that we have one more evidence that PQ is end to end quota, used by multiple intermediate stations. Check blog 28909 for a detailed operation of PQ. Apr 06 2010 (07:34) Blog Post# 28555-42 delhimurlidhargmail.com Added by: moderator^~ Jul 27 2011 (07:02) Indeed, Mr MST, it is another unofficial blog. But you will find GMs, former GMs, MT RB, CCE, CME, and other senior officials too on that site. They are known to the long time members of that site. And if you were to check their authencity, you would find that iT IS authentic. However each to his own view. As for PQ, you still have not got the point: First it is from originating to short of destination, and NOT end to end. Please read it again. it is for beginning to intermediate, and intermediate to end or intermediate to intermediate, and also quotas for smaller stations are "POOLED" together as stated therein! Otherwise what is the meaning of "Pooled"; as you... more... Check this blog Entry# 28935. See a ticket issued in PQ, having PQWL, which is upto to last station of the train. In some of the trains, additional coaches are being added as per demand, and lots of cancellations/modifications will take place. So stay on with your booking. Closer to the date of journey say 5 days before come back and again post the PNR for analysis. Forget this technical discussion. And I am sorry nobody thought it fit to advise you on your PNR. good... more... If the system uses the vacant PQ berths to provide end to end accomodation, does this not mean PQ is end to end? As you know (the same IRFCA site), that a ticket cannot span across 2 quotas in 2 legs of the journey and give a confirmed berth to passenger. If a confirmed berth has to be given to a passenger, it has to be from "one single quota only in which the passenger fits in as per his source-destination of journey". So now you yourself have said that end to end accomodations are provided from PQ. . Btw... more... Apr 06 2010 (08:13) Blog Post# 28555-51 delhimurlidhargmail.com Added by: moderator^~ Jul 27 2011 (07:02) No Sir, if the Vacant Pooled Quota berths are allotted to end to end passengers it does not mean it is end to end quota. End to end quota is General, assocaited with it's unique allocation such as Ladies, LB, etc. Only Vacant berths in Pooled Quota are given to end to end passengers at the time of charting, once the PQWL is exhausted.. i.e. if PQWL is cleared at the PQWL list SIR. I think I have had enough of this discussion. Good wishes Mr MST. PS:... more... "Vacant berths in Pooled Quota are given to end to end passengers" - this itself tells that PQ is end to end. Apr 06 2010 (09:14) Blog Post# 28555-53 delhimurlidhargmail.com Added by: moderator^~ Jul 27 2011 (07:02) The key word Mr MST is "VACANT BERTHS" If there are no Vacant berths???? Read the whole para fully and then draw your conclusions.. and don't take sentences out of context PLEASE ! That twists the meaning, even here the key word is "VACANT" that does not mean it is end to end quota. To give you an example, if TATKAL quota is going vacant, it will be alloted to GNWL. Does that mean TATKAL is also GNWL quota? NO sir, No. Or if GN Class is vacant, and Tatkal is full and waitlisted, it could be given from the GN vacancy, but that would not take away the TATKAL feature would it. The passenger would still have paid for TATKAL. It's a question of adjustment of seats and quotas. OR if TATKAL is completely vacant, then GNWL will be accommodated... it will NOT be left empty right ? ... more... In general, the vacant berth from a pool quota (say X) are first utilized to clear WL of that pool (mean X not Y) & if still berth are empty, system automatically transfer the berth into GNWL & if still unutilized then to other Quota, thats y GN Quota enjoys supremacy!!!!!! Again, single quota enroute means, a passenger will be entitled to one quota per ticket and different quotas cant be mixed on a single ticket (if Ticket is in waiting & different quota mix can make the seat confirm between different combination of stations) Single... more... if vacant berth needs to be alloted to GN end to end passengers, does that not mean that the vacant berth has to span across the length of the journey? Else how is this possible. 1- Do read post 28909 and get complete understanding of how PQ is operated by IR. 2- Go to the nearest railway station and just check some charts pasted on railway trains. You will see that PQ is indicated end-to-end. Other RS and RL quotas are indicated "PUNE\" or "\PUNE". 3-... more... Now, here is what is the source of info: 1- Whenever I travel by trains, I make it a point to check the reservation charts pasted on trains (not just my train, but also train stopping on opposite platform). It gives you a good idea as to how quotas are organized in trains. 2- There was a website hosted by IR railways (irsuggestions.org) in which even the railway officials used to participate. They have themselves given this information. 3- I... more... Well, gud query!!!!! As earlier example of mine about Godan Express, where PQWL was from LTT to ALD!!! Now if that pool is having berth post its own PQWL clearance, the Pool will be shifted to clear on the GNWL, i.e. LTT-GKP or LTT-GKP(pool). Its easier to allocate LTT-ALD quota to LTT-AMH OR LTT-GKP waiting, as the train is largely vacant in between LTT-GKP... more... . I didnt really get what you wanted to say, but from what info you have provided, I can analyze, conclude and summarize as below (I am applying my analysis also) for Godan Exp: . Why because PQ has specific berths in the trains. Good wishes again.. And yes, PQ is end to end, that is what this PNR proves. And finally looks like you still have not understood PQ. Some wrong statements from you or statements that have no significane in the explanation of PQ: "that PQWL starts when GN finishes" "Do take into account the TIME FACTOR of booking/confirmation." "Note in this PNR that the passengers have been accommodated in different coaches ! Why because PQ has specific berths in the trains." OK, Mr Murali, let me do some corrections for you: . Improper statement 1: "that PQWL starts when GN finishes" Correction 1 : PQWL starts only when PQ finishes, in some trains, and when both GN and PQ finish in other train. After allocation of PQ, RL, RS in their respective Quota, if berth remains vacant, system automatically prioritize it for GNWL before any other quota. 3. Wish you all Happy Blogging. Sir, So far I am exposed and have experience, never came across a PQWL from origin to destination. The PNR on which you think having gained support, is not pertaining to a booking from the Origin but from the first halt entoute. And in this particular case also - perfetly right he is. Thanks for this support to him, Sir! I never said PQWL is end to end. I said PQ is end to end. Read all my postings, and this is what I have been consistently saying. . PQ is used to allocate passengers configured for some source-destination pairs, which may not be eligible for GN quota. But PQ can also be used to allocate end to end passengers. The Ranikhet example I gave contained a passenger allocated on (obviously end to end PQ), but the passenger 2 onwards were placed on GNWL, not PQWL. .... more... Mr Jain, here Mr Murali has not been even able to get the concept of PQ, which I have been trying to explain him. I have asked him to visit blog No 28909, where I have explained PQ in detail. It indicates who can use this quota, when will its WL start, how will its WL improve etc. Why cant PUNE to BPL ticket be booked from PUNE to JAT PQ quota ? Pune to Bhopal fits in Pune to Jammu Tawi, so it can very well be booked. All you guys are sitting here in front of your computers and drawing some wrong conclusions. Pls visit the nearest railway station, check some reservation charts there, check charts put up on trains, ask the TTE abt PQ. You get to know that PQ is end to end (I am not talking of PQWL, I am talking of quota itself. End to end passengers are placed under GNWL). Till then no point discussion, you all guys are shooting in the dark. Mr. MST now i am telling you my pat experience regarding TTE's knowledge. Once i travelled from BCT to NDLS in train # 2009. Because of some circumtances i don't get my E tickets printout & i board the train. TTE come for checking and he found me without E ticket prinout. Now he don't know rules regarding E ticket. "IF passenger had no get his printout then TTE will make his ticket & fine him 50 rs only" But this Mr. TTE don't ready to expext my thing.
