Following is a guideline how to check the passenger charts pasted on the train coach near the door:
1- Quotas are indicated by “GN” or “PQ”.
2- If a quota is defined only till a particular station, it appears as “StationCode/”, e.g.”PUNE/” (This is called RS quota).
3- If...
more... a quota is defined from intermediate station, it appears as “/StationCode”, e.g. “/PUNE” (This is called RL quota).
4- If nothing appears like in point 2 and 3 above, this means it’s a end to end quota.

Following is a guideline how to check the WL charts put up on reservation boards:
1- Check how many PQWL are there.
.
Following is what you need to check and analyze:
1- Check charts pasted on coach. See if a berth marked as “PQ” carries something like “StationCode/” or “/StationCode”. If not it does not end at intermediate station or does not start from an intermediate station, it means its from start to end.
2- Check which all passengers are marked against PQ. If someone bears an end to end ticket (or starting from 1sr RS section till last RL section), this means its from start to end.
3- If there is only 1 PQWL, this means, there is only one PQ. If there were multiple, there would have been many passengers having PQWL 1 as status, and utter chaos and confusion as to who is the real WL 1 passenger. Another thing to observe is that PQWL will never contain end to end passengers.
