This train is considered one of the most VIP and preferred trains on the New Delhi route after the Rajdhani Express. The decision to shift the operation to Purnea Court Station is pending approval from the Railway Board. The Vaishali Express has faced previous controversies regarding its operational route, with initial routes involving stops in Hajipur and Muzaffarpur before being shifted to a route via Motihari, Bettiah, and Gorakhpur. The change was a result of pressure from local representatives and later, demands from passengers in Chhapra and Siwan. The current route utilizes Muzaffarpur via Bapudham, Motihari, and Bettiah, with the Saptkranti Superfast train operating on this route between Muzaffarpur and Anand Vihar.

Purnea Court Station pe operation shift karne ka decision Railway Board se approval ka intezaar kar raha hai. Vaishali Express ka operational route pehle bhi controversy tha, pehle route Hajipur aur Muzaffarpur se hota tha, uske baad yeh Motihari, Bettiah, aur Gorakhpur se hota tha. Yeh change local representatives ke pressure aur phir Chhapra aur Siwan ke yaatriyon ki maang ki wajah se hua tha. Ab is route mein Muzaffarpur via Bapudham, Motihari, aur Bettiah use hota hai, aur is route pe Saptkranti Superfast train Muzaffarpur aur Anand Vihar ke beech chalti hai.

This happened almost 15+ years ago. This train had a different TT then and used to start from Muzzafarpur and GKP on alternate days. NER used to issue unreserved SL tickets back in the day and of course, it was all ICF livery with very less nos of AC coaches, so good chance of getting a daytime seat in SL class. I was travelling from Babhnan to Barabanki. The train used to come at 1500+ hrs at BV and estimated to reach BBK at 1900+ hrs. It was single line section then between BV to Gonda, double from Gonda to Burhwal, I think, with single line on the Elgin Bridge over Saryu.

had a Window seat and the train had crossed Gonda with minimal delay. However, all heck broke lose around Elgin bridge when our train was looped for crossings, both for xings and overtakes. I think the Vaishali also overtook us. We were looped furthur at Jahangirabad Raj[one station before destination] for an hour and some in the coach assumed that the engine had failed. The train was delayed by nearly ~3.5+ hrs and it had barely covered 30 kms in past 3.5+ hours. We reached BBK around 2230 hours with a delay of 3+ hours.

The station master, Sudhir Kumar, was immediately suspended based on the report, while investigations against other individuals are ongoing. The report highlighted five points of negligence, including an open slab door on a derailed wagon, an untied rail panel, the absence of any speed restrictions during shunting, a dirty check rail on a track, and a lack of documentation regarding shunting in the mechanical rack at Narayanpur Anant. The goods train was traveling at a speed of 2 km per hour during the shunting operation. The report also noted delays in train operations, including a seven-hour delay for the New Delhi-Barauni 02564 Clone Express, a 6.18-hour delay for the 02563 Clone Express, and a six-hour and 40-minute delay for the 19038 Barauni-Bandra Awadh Express.

Report mein 5 point par laaparvahi pakdi gayi hai. Report mein bataya gaya hai ki bepatri hue ek wagon ka slab door khula hua tha, lekin ek bhi rail aage ya peeche nahi hua tha. Wahi rail panel ko tar se nahi bandha gaya tha. Shunting ke liye kisi prakar ka speed praatibandh rack incharge dwara nahi diya gaya tha. Narayanpur Anant-Muzaffarpur section ke gumti number 98 special ke ek track ka check rail ganda tha. Narayanpur Anant ke SWR mein mechanical rack ki shunting sambandhi jikra tak nahi kiya gaya tha. Joint jaanch team ne BM jaanch report aur speedometer se speed ki report bhi li. Loco pilot aur co-loco pilot ne bayan diya ki ghatna ke dauraan malgadi ki speed 2 km/hour thi. Shunting ke dauraan guard loco mein hi the. Dummy shunt ke paas gadi rok kar utar gaye. Report mein train operations mein delay bhi bataya gaya hai, jaise ki New Delhi-Barauni 02564 Clone Express 7 ghante der se chali, 02563 Clone Express 6.18 ghante der se chali, aur 19038 Barauni-Bandra Awadh Express 6 ghante 40 minute der se chali.
