2nd LHB run of 12779 Goa SF Express from VSG railway station. Notice how the PC staff have garlanded the pantry car for even the second LHB run just like yesterday's staff the today's staff too were taking photos with the train. Really shows how much they love this train.
Like others have mentioned it really needs a speed up now that LHB is done. I was onboard 12618 Mangala past 2 days and it really saddened me how the train ran at 130 kmph for brief spells, each spell followed by slowdowns because they didn't bother to speed up the TT. I hope our Goa express gets treated better than that.
Can you imagine Gondwana departs ET 20 minutes after 12779 and arrives NZM 1hr 25 mins before 12779 and Gondwana has twice the number of halts compared to 12779 between ET to NZM. Such a ridiculous TT clearly 2 hours speed up possible in ET NZM ET section. Hope they do it and I'm sure after completion of LD Pune doubling they will speed up all trains there.
Better if they schedule a later departure from VSG and keep arrival at NZM the same time, would be more convenient for most passengers going to Delhi and also the train would arrive at Pune at later time which would also be more convenient. Only small downside is that passengers won't get to witness Braganza Ghats during daytime perhaps, but small price to pay for higher speed and convenient timings.
That would be a great especially for people visiting Shirdi from Goa if departure from VSG can be pushed to between 17.00 to 18.00 no more half day leave at workplace required 😁. For DDS views they should restart VSG BGM pax as VSG MRJ triweekly ICE and also resume VSG MAS express back from VSG.
This train is meant to connect Delhi via various states after introduction of PUNE - NK line priority trains will be diverted to avoid engine reversals to reduce time. SNSI can also be reached conveniently from MMR.
