काफी अरसे से गया-नई दिल्ली महाबोधि एक्सप्रेस तथा गया-चेन्नई एक्सप्रेस में एसी कोच की संख्या में वृद्धि की मांग उठ रही थी। विभिन्न संगठनों द्वारा की जा रही लगातार की माग को अपने उच्च अधिकारियों तक पहुंचाने वाले रेलवे के एरिया आफिसर संदीप कुमार ने बताया कि इन दोनों ट्रेनों में एसी कोच की संख्या में वृद्धि के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी मिल गई है।
उन्होंने बताया कि 12397/98 महाबोधि एक्सप्रेस तथा 12389/90 गया-चेन्नई एक्सप्रेस में 3 एसी कोच और 2 एसी कोच की कुल संख्या पांच होगी। उन्होंने बताया कि वृद्धि की गई एसी कोच साल के अंतिम महीने दिसंबर से जोड़कर चलाई जाएगी। 1 दिसबंर को गया से तथा 2 दिसंबर को नई दिल्ली से चलने वाली महाबोधि एक्सप्रेस में कुल पांच एसी कोच होंगे। जबकि गया से साप्ताहिक (रविवार) को चलने वाली गया-चेन्नई एक्सप्रेस में बढ़ाए एसी कोच 4 दिसंबर से तथा चेन्नई की तरफ से 6 दिसंबर को लगकर चला करेगी। इन दोनों ट्रेन में कोच की कुल संख्या 22 होगी। बता दें कि गया के सांसद हरि मांझी, ग्रैंडकार्ड पैसेंजर एसोसिएशन के देवेन्द्र कुमार जैन, चैंबर आफ कामर्स सहित कई संगठनों के लोगों के द्वारा काफी अरसे से इन दोनों ट्रेन में एसी कोच की संख्या बढ़ाने की माग की जा रही थी। गया सहित औरंगाबाद, रोहतास जिले के प्रमुख स्टेशनों से होकर गुजरने वाली इन दोनों ट्रेन के यात्रियों के लिए यह सुखद खबर कही जा सकती है।
