This train is supposed to be for the benefit of UBL-YPR passengers to go to MAS. But TT shows that it is useless as it touches the stations from Harihar to YPR at ghost hours and wastes 1/2 day. Return trip is still horrible with crawling behind daily ICE and reaching at stns between YPR-Haveri at ghost hours. Proper TT management is required. Should start from UBL by 4 Pm and reach YPR by night 1130 and reach MAS by 0630. Return should start by night 2200 and reach YPR by morning 0430 and reach UBL by 1200 noon.

Fully agree. But being a SWR train, no one in SWR will agree this train to pass Bengaluru outskirts at odd hours. They would like to get this train halt for an hour at YPR, do loco reversal and then release.

There should be a daily train between UBL and MS (Chennai Egmore) on alternate days via DVG and via BAY. TT should be like this:
UBL 1730; GTL 2230; RU 0430;MS 0830.Return: MS 1830;RU 2230;GTL 0430;UBL 0930.
UBL 1730;DVG 2030;ASK 2230;YPR 0045;KPD 0500; AJJ 0615; MS 0830. Return: MS 1830; YPR 0115; UBL 0900.

If you see the TT of VSG-MAS, though 23 hours journey, wastes 2 full days. No one will travel like this. Being SWR train, they want this train at convenient timings at UBL and YPR. Other cities are just forgotten.

Still, it can be managed. From MS, VM is 3 hours away. This train if reaches to MS by 0830 , can reach VM by 1130 and return by 1530 from VM. There are no trains after Cholan in both directions except for some odd weekly ones.
There should be a will. Way will follow.

SWR should give same treatment to SR at SBC. Give direction that all non-SWR trains should leave within 2-3 hours from SBC. These trains should be moved out of SBC on priority to accommodate SWR trains.
ERS-SBC (bi-weekly/ weekly) waits at SBC from morning 0430 to evening 1845. KCVL-SBC daily waits at SBC from morning 0830 to 1715.

Agreed that this is a special and MAS is totally congested. Then why SR agreed for MAS as terminal? They could have shifted to MS or VM or PDY.
What about VSG/UBL-MAS weeklies which are running for more than a decade? Why can't their TT be changed to suit travelling public? With such a pathetic TT, how do you expect patronage?

KCVL/ERS-SBC trains can go back to SA or TPJ during day time. With just one more rake and RSA, one day time train to TPJ can be run. Say for example, SBC Dep 0830 and TPJ arrival 1545. Next day morning, this can start at TPJ by 0700 and arrive at SBC by 1430 and go back to KCVL/ ERS.
Why SR cannot do this?

If SR has any TT problems, use these trains to run a trip to Hassan and bring back to SBC in the evening. Something similar to what SR is doing for MYS-MV train which goes to TPJ and returns back. As of now, there is no daily train from Bengaluru to Hassan (I will not count Karwar/ Kannur exp as a train to Hassan).

SBC-MYS is full with extended trains from north KA. Here, what I am suggesting is to get first ever connectivity to Hassan from SBC, by running as a separate train with different number. Both ideas are different.

Those boarding/ alighting at Carmelaram should book only from/ to that station. Then the records will be generated properly.
Similar situation exists for BNC and SBC. People book from/ to SBC and board/ alight at BNC. So, no actual data is available for BNC. After some time, many trains may start skipping BNC citing low turnout. SWR is capable of trying out such ventures. They tried skipping BNC for KCVL-SBC express initially.

Most of the trains run by SWR are run in circuitous routes only. All GJ/ RJ passengers are made to go via Ballari, Hubli, Belgaum, Pune or via DVG, Hubli, Bijapur, SUR, Pune and not in the direct route DVG, Hubli, Belgaum, Pune.
Again, the starting/ ending time of the time is suiting SWR and not to the passengers. Starts at 0500 at YPR and returns at 0315 at YPR. Enroute, it waits for giving way to other faster trains like Jan Shatabdhi, etc.
Not preferred by short distance passengers within

KA. Long distance passengers are travelling not because they like the route/ train, but there is no other proper trains.
Everything is abnormal in SWR.

GJ/RJ passengers are not concentrated only in Bengaluru and Hubli. They are living every where in Karnataka. But trains are not run at proper timings / slots.
Say for example, one has to travel from Shivamogga to GJ/ RJ, he has to board at odd hours at Birur or go to Hubli by night bus and wait for the train coming from Bengaluru via Ballari.
Again, from Mysuru to GJ/ RJ, MYS-DWR express arrives at 0730 at UBL, but GJ/ RJ trains leave UBL at 0630. What one has to do? Go
...

via SBC on the previous day itself, wasting time, money and energy.
What a Ballari/ HPT person should do? Wait for a zig zag train at midnight 0130 at BAY or has to take a night bus to reach UBL stn before 0530.

But SWR sees these kind of passengers as passengers from UBL or SBC to GJ/ RJ, which is not at all correct. Instead of running daily trains from SBC/ YPR on a daily basis on all zig-zag routes, SWR should run weekly/ bi weekly trains from MYS, SMET and UBL and other 3-4 days from SBC/ YPR.
Considering SWR's way of thinking, I am sure this will never happen.

Garib Nawaz and SBC-BGKT are passing through Ballari at ghost hours to suit timings at other places. Instead of this, YPR-BKN can go via BAY, BJP skipping UBL. Garib Nawaz and BGKT can go from SBC to UBL and further via DVG. Will help long distance as well as Ballari pax. Of course, UBL will miss BKN train, but there is no rule that all trains should pass through UBL. Will SWR do this?

This train crawls in SWR zone. Originally LTT-SBC train extended to CBE, but not useful for SBC-ED public as it passes at odd hours. It wastes more than 2 hours in and around Bangalore.
Return TT, speed is OK, but wastes 2 full days.
TT should be changed completely so that it can reach from LTT to CBE in 29 to 30 hours.

Main problem is TT. I do not have confidence to take this train to SBC. It may reach at odd timings and I have to fight with auto drivers for fixing the charges. Surprisingly, it does not halt at DBP and YNK, which are growing suburbs of Bengaluru. With this kind of snail TT, atleast provide a 2 min halt at DBP and YNK. Reaches DBP by 2000 and YNK by 2030. Stop at YNK will give some relief to passengers bound for Hebbal, Yeshwantpur, etc. They can take BMTC and reach their destinations faster.
It should start from LTT around 1700 and reach SBC by 1500 and CBE by 2200. Return TT should be CBE 1600; SBC 2300; LTT 2100.

Low TAT creates problems. If need be there, it should have a circular RSA like this: LTT-PUNE-GTL-SBC-CBE AND THEN CBE-CLT-MAJN-MAO-LTT. Via Konkan, CBE-LTT can be covered in 22-23 hours. After reaching CBE, can start after 2-3 hours in the opposite direction. This will give CBE a much awaited connectivity to Konkan also.
Full round trip in 60 hours: From Mumbai 29 hours to CBE via GTL, 3 hour TAT, 22-23 hours to LTT via Konkan and again after 5-6 hour cleanup/ maint, repeat the cycle. Another train in anti-clockwise direction.
