As always, the current/new RM laid down that 'Safety' is his prime concern and that mesures need to be taken to ensure they have a quality system in place.
Infact there are a whole lot of things the current RM needs to pay attention.First is ofcourse of passenger safety and security, then comes things like food, hygeine, cleanliness, schedules, track maintanence. I still feel that even after decentralizing the catering system in certain zones, the catering hasn't really improved, (maybe barring certain trains).
The RPF positions which are still vacant and that

to, too many, need to be filled urgently or else the security wil never be tightened, since we won't have enough people to monitor them.
Also, since fares haven't been increased for quite sometime now, I was reading an article that simply the freight income isn't able to give the railways that surplus which is required to mantain the standards which railways is required to (though not sure too much about it). The coming Rail Budget next year might see the fares being increased.
It's an open view point, others might like to give their views.

The zonal system creates all these issues.Since every zone has their set of trains plying to different zones, they would want to treat their own trains on better level than the other zonal trains.A very simple example is that if a certain train of NR zone is coming to NDLS along with trains of other zones, the NR zone will be given preference over other zonal trains, and will be given entry over the other zonal trains. Similar is the case with the maintanence of trains, hence it doesn't shock us too much when we hear these issues. The only and prime concern is people like us as pasengers who travel in the trains and because of the tussle between the zonal railways such negligence is bound to happen and we as passengers have to face it.

An inhuman person should be sacked straight away. Just because he's not in the running of RM, made his ego come into the picture. I wonder how can these guys handle even state level porfolios if they are given by any chance. They can't perform on the local front, leave aside the national front.
The Railways portfolio is a prestigious assignment and one which should be dealt with utmost responsibility, the problem is that the past RM was hardly bothered about the Ministry, bilnded

by the CM's chair in WB and her partymen are no different. They are not fit for national level politics, guess they would be better of doing their typical 'parha level politics'.
