No it did not start with extension of Tambaram express. It started with neglect and apathy towards Asn jsme, Giridih line, Bhagalpur Mandar hill line. Even today a demand of local train in asn jsme section is being denied. We only have 4 pairs of local trains. And just see their running status.. you will understand how they treat this section.

You have three trains in the morning vs we have zero. Asn based 2 trains- Bidhan and Intercity as well as coalfield. From Andal, we also get an option of siuri Memu although I have never travelled in it. Now suppose one of them is extended or one new service is introduced. , how will it affect people of that section. Sealdah intercity is a 14 coach train. Few more coach can be added and it can easily be extended.

I am a weekly traveller of these trains and have seen people in Asansol thronging all 3 trains. You don’t need to tell me the difference as well as importance of these trains. However, in my opinion, one of the trains could have been extended (mostly Intercity will bear the burnt or a new train should be introduced). I remember when MB was the RM Bidhan was considered to extend up to CRJ.

Jamtara halt of Poorva was a long pending demand and a necessary halt. I now see a lot of people from nearby places using this train for Delhi and even Howrah. Not everything is unnecessary.

I myself have used this train a lot from Howrah to Jmt. My family and friends are using it from both Howrah and Delhi. I reside near station and have seen multiple people boarding and de boarding from Poorva.
And why should I care about raniganj and andal. Do u even know the connectivity with Raniganj and Udl with Asansol wrt Jamtara? Had Jamtara been previleged with multiple Memu and regular bus services with Asansol I would have been least bothered. But ER doesn’t even think of giving more locals to Asn Jsme section. Do you even know that ER didn’t even provide a morning train to Kolkata in our route but all other routes have morning trains.
We have to be dependent on morning Memu and coalfield which have been a risk a lot of times. Stop your hatred towards Jamtara and Jharkhand. It is A fact that this region was neglected and would have continued to be...
