For that, only solution is arleast in future, most of the newly proposed trains are to be started from Kanyakumari,Toothukkudi,Rameswaram,Tirunelveli,Madurai etc. Then only South Tamilnadu will get equal rights and it will pave the way for the balanced railway network for the passengers and other freight movement of entire Tamilnadu state. Apart from that,Tamilnadu state's main trunk route Madras- kanyakumari needs to be doubled at the earliest from the present single line. In the last 4,5 decades, why none of our elected MPS collectively raised their voice in the parliament for this doubling is really a wonder. Also, State government should help the railways by speeding up the pending land aquisition cases, alloting suffient quarries, making flyovers on level crossings etc.Unless otherwise these are all not met, expecting more trains and better services/connectivity will be the day dreams only.
