Hirakhand Express to run up to Jagadalpur

VISAKHAPATNAM: East Coast Railway has extended the Bhubaneswar-Koraput Hirakhand Express train up to Jagadalpur and the running of trains on the extended section will begin on December 18. Similarly Puri-Palasa train has been extended up to Parlakhemundi.

more... Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will formally inaugurate three trains from Bhubaneswar at a small function, a release from the ECoR said.
The train Nos. 8447/8448 Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar trains will be flagged off from Bhubaneswar, the train Nos.217/218 Puri-Parlakhemundi-Puri passenger trains would be flagged off from Puri remotely from Bhubaneswar.
After arriving at Koraput at the scheduled time, this train would leave Koraput at 10.05 a.m. and reach Jagadalpur at 12.40 p.m. In the return journey the train would leave Jagadalpur at 3.30 p.m. and reach Koraput at 6.05 p.m., Senior Divisional Commercial Manager H.L. Luwang has said. The train 217/218 would leave Palasa at 4.30 p.m. reaching Naupada at 5.10 p.m. and leaving at 5.20 p.m. to reach Paralakhemundi at 6.45 p.m. These trains have been provided stops at Tekkali (passenger halt), Peddasana, Tamburu, Ganguvada, Patapatnam and Parlakhemundi. In return journey it leaves Parlakhemundi at 7.50 a.m. arriving at Naupada at 9.15 a.m. and leaving at 9.25 a.m. to reach Palasa at 10 a.m. after which it would run as per existing schedule.
