Trip report from dairy-Return trip from Nagpur to Bangalore-April 2000(Again 13 year old boy observations so no loco details)
After about 15 days stay at Nagpur, we started our journey back. My mom was bit worried about the heat and travelling all alone till Bangalore again by this train but then we anyway decided to go ahead with the plans
Train was scheduled to leave at 13:30hrs and we reached station at 12:45-shocked to see that Pf-2 where our train was supossed to arrive was fileld to brim and my Uncle asked-you said...
more... train was empty-we were completely shocked to see the crowd.
5 mins later we understood the proceedings. Chennai bound 2616 Grand Trunk Express was running an hour late and expected at 13:15hrs. the train came in and platform was 75% empty
Announcement came for 12622 Tamilnadu to arrive at 14:15hrs but just as GT exited another Electric loco entered Pf-2 hauling the Bangalore Express. Announcement for train came just as it entered at 13:45 hrs.
we boarded in the familiar scenario yet again of only me and my mom. there wasnt anyone else in the coach this time.
We left at 14:10hrs just as New Delhi bound Tamilnadu Express entered. Had a nice run till Sewagram leaving at 15:30hrs.
afer about 30 mins run from Sewagram we had a pull over. An unofficial halt which extended beyond 5 mins and my mom guessed what turned out to be right. the SR king was chasing us down!!. Tamilnadu Express gave out a loud honk and brutally overtook us throwing dust all over.
We slowly started again but the ehat had taken my energy and made me uncomfortable. We washed out towels to hang it by window so that it made situation better.
Reached Chandrapur at 18:05hrs and after long halt left at 18:35 hrs. Reached Balarshah at 19:00hrs to leave at 19:15hes but the lights werent switched on leaving us in dark. thankfuly TTE was around and he made arrangements to switch on lights by around 19:45hrs.
Crossed Godavari yet again and we entered Manchiryal at 21:00hrs for 2 mins halt. run was quite good to reach Kazipet at 22:50hrs and leaving same at 23:10hrs. though i was down in Lower berth stations kept waking me. My mom ws again anxious about being all alone at night.
The cool winds and I dozed off. Mom noticed Secunderabad arrival and filled up the arrival in dairy as 1:30AM and slept back.
i woke up around 5 and we were standing somewhere. Looked at station board which said Kacheguda-and tiem of SC arrival in dairy 1:30. My mom who also woke up said Slack time again and we left secunderabad only at 4:30AM. 3 hrs halt at a major station!!
Slowly we moved on stopping at
Jadcherla at 6:00AM,
Mahabubnagar at 6:22
Gadwal-7:15
Slowly crossed Thungabadhra to reach Kurnool Town at 8:15AM and left at 8:20AM. Dhronechellam was reached at 9:10 but this time it was only 20 mins halt as we left at 9:30AM
Slowly we reached Guntakal at 10:35AM and tiem for reversal. in the meantime the CSTM bound Kannaiyakumari-cST Express arrived on next platform and we left at 11:00AM.
Reached anantapur at 12:35Pm where Rajkot-coimbatore Weekly was waiting for us on platform2. We left at 12:45 from there
Reached dharmavaram at 13:25hrs and few minutes after us cam ein ethe Guntur bound pass from Bangalore. the train left after 5 mins but we halted and got starter only at 14:05hrs.
Crossing the border and the ghat sections, we slowly crossed Yelahanka and Baiyappanhalli where we met the Hyderabad bound Express(7086 now 12786 Dep 5PM) and slowly and steadily crossed Cantt at 5:50PM to reach Platform 5 of Bangalore City junction at 18:00hrs 20 mins ahead of schedule
