An old trip report(Taken from a dairy)-March 2000
Bangalore to Nagpur by 9775 Bangalore-Jaipur bi-weekly
Please read it in an angle of a 13 year old boy with no idea of deisel and electric classification and understands only a Electric and a diesel loco are different
It was a plan to Nagpur and the only regular connection to Nagpur from Bangalore were the Gorakhpur...
more... Weekly and the Rajdhani 4 days a week. My father went through the Trains at a Glance and pointed out to the recently introduced 9775 bi-weekly to Jaipur via Nagpur
went to the counter and booked tickets-was excited to see 2 Lower berths allotted to me and my mom which meant i could spend more time at Window
Day arrived and we went to the station-Train was scheduled to leave at 8:45AM and was allotted Platform-6. Platform-7 was occupied by the guntur bound pass which then started from City. Platform 2 was occupied by the 6024 Express to chennai which had just lost its Sleeper coaches and got 2S
sharp 8:45AM we got the starter and started moving-reached Bangalore cantt at 8:55 and left at 9:05-in the bay of 6 me and my mom were the only 2 occupants. in the coach of 72 we were the only reserved apart from about 10 unreserved tickets
TTE came to check and my mom asked about status-TTe said yes there were no occupiers owing to exams and apart from that the train was not very popular as it was recently introduced.when my mom expressed her feelings of being alone TTE said tickets have been booked by few people to board at Secunderabad
Slowly we shifted to the hyderabad line and i was excited as we were to travel Bangalore-Hyderabad strech in full day
Happilly enjoyed the surroundings-In meantime at chennasandra we overtook the guntur pass that left at 8:30 and continued our way. Reached Hinudpur at 11:07AM and left at 11:10AM after which we were halted at Malgur for the crossing of Karnataka Express towards bangalore(Arrival 13:55hrs at sbc)
Slowly reached dharmavaram at 12:40PM where the Bangalore bound pass from guntur met us. at 13:10 we left Dharmavaram-the Meter gauge track from tirupati gave us company till Kalluru
To be Contd....
