Due to a derailed coal-carrying train near tunnel number 15 between Sonavli and Dudhsagar on the South Western Railway division, the Madgaon-Hubli railway line has been closed since Friday morning. from Hubli is being used to remove the derailed carriages. The incident caused significant damage to the railway track, requiring complete replacement. Following repairs, the line will have to be inspected by railway safety commissioners before reopening. Many train journeys have been cancelled or rerouted. For example, the Vasco Nizamuddin train is running via Madgaon-Panvel, while the Vasco Shalimar Express is terminating at Hubli. The rescue efforts are facing challenges due to the heavy weight of the coal-filled carriages, limited space, the location within a tunnel, and intermittent heavy rainfall.

Sunday raat tak line chalu ho jaane ki ummeed hai. Is accident se bahut saare trains cancel ya reroute kiye gaye hain. Jese ki Vasco Nizamuddin train Madgaon-Panvel se jaa raha hai, aur Vasco Shalimar Express Hubli pe ruk ja raha hai. Rescue operations mein kaafi problems aa rahi hain, coal-filled carriages bahut heavy hain, space bhi kam hai, aur tunnel ke andar kaam karne mein dikkat ho rahi hai. Iske upar se barish bhi dikkat bana rahi hai.
