2023-24), a total of 27,057.7 kilometers of tracks have been laid. However, the pace of track construction has slowed down in recent years. In 2022-23, 3901 kilometers of track were laid, while in 2023-24, only 2966 kilometers were laid, averaging to 8.12 kilometers per day. This is despite the Indian Railways laying around 15 kilometers of new track every day, as stated by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Lekin, recent saalon mein track banane ki speed kam hui hai. 2022-23 mein, 3901 kilometer track banaye gaye the, aur 2023-24 mein sirf 2966 kilometer track banaye gaye, jo har din 8.12 kilometer ke baraabar hai.
