It was another RAILFANS EVENING OUT at Sealdah Station when 4 die-hard and enthusiastic railfans met at Sealdah at 4.30 pm. They were the dynamic IRI workhorse Dipyaman Basu, the young and charming Wrik, calm and sober Sourabh, who was making his maiden appearance at an RF meet and yours truly. A little after 5 pm we were joined by Saikat Ghose.
We witnessed the departure of 3 prestigious trains from Sealdah viz. 12313 Sealdah Howrah Rajdhani Express at 1650, 13103 Sealdah Lalgola Bhagirathi Express at 1820 and 12259 Sealdah New Delhi Duronto Express at 1830.
It...
more... was a very enjoyable RF session made more memorable by the presence of Sourabh whom we all met for the first time. The discussions were extremely enjoyable and informative because of the technical expertise of Dipyaman, Saikat and Sourabh, who were veritable warehouses of data and information relating to railways.
The notable absentees at the session were the video whizkid Arkya, the stalwart admin BG, the bubbly railfan86, Gaurav and Prakash, who are presently indescribable as I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting them. A last minute cancellation was the confirmed ticket of Sabyasachi Ghosh, the de facto convener of RF meets in Kolkata. They missed the meet and were sorely missed by all of us.
Two and half hours of enjoyment and bliss came to an end around 7 pm as Saikat took leave of the group followed by Dipayaman and Wrik. Sourabh and I boarded a Budge Budge EMU and got off at Tollygunge Rly Station. From there I took the metro for my home station Masterda Surya Sen while Sourabh availed a bus to attend a wedding reception.
Regarding further details and snaps I request the other participants to share them along with their experiences of the evening.
