Yo, so on the night of August 2nd, 2023 (which was a Wednesday), I headed to the station and got to Jind Junction around 10:30 PM. I had a ticket for the 19411/SBIB (Sabarmati Ahmedabad) - DLPC (Daulatpur Chauk) train, also known as the Jaipur-Chandigarh Express, which was right on schedule with an expected arrival at JIND JN around 02:30 AM. While I was waiting, I saw a couple of trains leave: the 16787/TEN-SVDK at 23:20, the legendary 12137/Punjab Mail headed towards FZR at 23:48, and the 12455/DEE-BKN at 00:30. It was raining that day, and all these trains were completely soaked, water pouring out from the end of each coach. As the rain started to die down, another legendary train, the 14035/Dhauladhar Express (DEE-PTK), arrived. By the way, they should totally move it back to its original terminal, DLI, to make things easier. The good news was that all the trains were running on time! Now, just when I was getting ready to endure another hour of boredom, turns out it wasn't meant to be. I was bored for about half an hour and was just wandering around the station when a freight train screeched to a halt on the third loop line (from the platform). After a while, I noticed a green signal on the second loop line, and it got me curious as to why that signal turned green. I was initially puzzled by that green signal, haha! As it got closer, the headlight of the train fell on the freight train standing on the loop line, giving me a clear view because of the light reflecting off of it. I didn't have a clue what was going on, so I just checked my phone. It was 01:35 AM on August 3rd, 2023 (which was a Thursday). And then it clicked: freight train stopped-green signal-passenger train will skip. As soon as I realized what was about to happen, I thought, "Okay, it's gonna suck to see, but whatever." I was watching, and I already knew what was coming before it even reached me. It was the 20985/KOTA-UHP Weekly. Honestly, this train should stop at this station instead of skipping it, eyeroll. As the train skipped, I recorded it and enjoyed the moment. Now, it was time for my train's announcement, but there was another surprise waiting for me: the return of the legendary 12138/Punjab Mail heading towards CSMT. Right after the announcement for the 12138 train, they announced the arrival of the 19411 train on platform number 4. As the 12138 train arrived, I could see the loco of the 19411 train. I boarded the 19411 and was happy that it was on time. I also saw the 12138 train leave on time. We even reached Chandigarh on time. Here are a few observations I made: 1. This route needs more trains going to Ludhiana and Chandigarh. The UMB route is already super crowded. 2. Stations need better lighting. 3. It's a major issue that some coaches don't have indicators installed. Railway should get on that as soon as possible. PS: How do I remember all this? I took notes, bro.
