Why can't Amrit Bharat trains be a subset of Mail/Express trains? Why can't the train from Ayodhya be called "Ayodhya - Darbhanga Express"? Apart from push/pull stuff, there is nothing revolutionary. It's not like the interiors suddenly resemble a modern Swiss coach. IR must be the only railways with more than a dozen category of trains already running; each having overlaps with one another. Most of them can just be subsumed under the Mail/Express category[ be it Antyodaya, Duronto, Sampark Kranti or what not; there are basically just minor differences].

is an express train that doesn't have AC coaches. What's the point behind giving it a new name? How does the common passenger benefit from having to learn a new name? Is this another example of a government/rail minister trying to leave his "imprint" onto Railways as all previous RMs have done?

Its all marketing and political branding. Just because Duronto, Shatabdi, JS, SK were started by opposition parties they will be slowly pushed to darkness. Each govt want to show its stamp and efficacy in working through these brands, to help them in elections. But in the backend official machinery stays the same. No need to go far even Antyodaya and HS are slowly moving to anonymity

Duronto are basically superfast trains with less stoppages. Jan Shatabdis all reserved ICE trains with higher surcharge and Sampark Kranti a type of Express/Superfast train that has most stoppages in it's home state. All were rebrandings of one or the other, to a certain extent.

This train should have the stoppage at Jajpur Keonjhar Road/JJKR.

It's much bigger than Belda, Jaleswar & Soro etc.

I am surprised that it is skipping Jajpur Keonjhar Road, usually express trains on this route skip Belda and Soro but stop there.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
