Yes SR can start trains. If I recollect correctly there was a proposal by TPJ division for a train to SBC ( using one remaining day slot of 12683 group of trains)...probably Tuesday from TPJ. I think it was approved in the IRTTM but after that no news. Similarly many proposals were rejected /put on hold by SWR with a note mentioning 'Will be considered once new terminal is ready at BYPL. Now with the new terminal opened, I think they need to again revive the discussion again. Pre-covid there was lot of visibility however post covid not much info.

Ideally in a trial run, full route needs to be clear so that the authorities can clock in the correct running time and then understand other finer aspects. In this case as per reports, controller thought that trail run doesnt have any passengers whereas Venad Express ( which is typically a commuter train has lot of passengers) was given precedence. VB had to halt because of this. He was suspended but suspension was revoked when unions intervened. Before trial run is done, I think all controllers are ideally informed not to halt the train having trial run midway. Dont know what and how this happened.

SR can have a train something like MAQ HAS SMVB/SMVB TPJ ONT in MAQ SMVB MAQ and daytime in SMVB TPJ SMVB.
Start from MAQ 2000 SBHR 2215 SMVB 0515 SA 0900 TPJ 1130. TPJ DEP 1530 SA 1800 SMVB 2230 SBHR 0500 MAQ 0730.
