As far as wasting Tax Payers Money is concerned, I as a taxpayer am happy that people's need are getting fulfilled instead of a Railfans' issue about higher MPS.
You DO realise Vande Bharat Express runs on tracks right ?? You do realise those tracks are same ? We aren't exactly creating Bullet Trains right now are we ??
Going by your definition, train has to either cover a needlessly long route or do speeds tracks are currently not capable of handling.
