I think 3E concept has failed so badly that...they have even stopped rolling out 3E coaches from rcf now.
The 3E coaches which got rolled out previously can't be dumped, so they are integrating 3E with 3A.

Almost every concept of this government on different new type coaches failed
1. Antodaya is totally flop concept, except few routes most are flop
2. Humsafar is also not so popular, except few routes most are flop
3. 3 Tier Economy coach not so popular as was expected due to poor design concept

antyodaya is more than just coaches but a full train concept itself.
humsafar will be again a hit service if the inflated fare is taken back and as the history told us already about the 3E class. its been 2nd time this 3Eclass has backfired .

If they would have introduced cheap fare AC trains like alternatives to garibrath...with some antyodaya coaches. It would have been hit for sure. Looks like they have to compete with airlines in terms of fare but not in the terms of speed and facilities.
It would be a good decision if railways have replaced this 3E "M" class with old 3A of garib rath rather than this unification .
